We Two

In these current times, where the feeling of 'we' is scarce, where sustainable relationships don't come naturally and where everybody has to find their own path, living together seems to have become something special.

Do we still dare to get in to relationships? Do we dare to give in give in to our insecurities? And are we still able to trust eachother? In 'We Two' we discover the relationship in these unfamiliar times.

The short opera 'The Telephone', composed by Gian Carlo Menotti, in 1947 and the song cycle 'Four Dialogues' by Ned Rorem in 1954, will be combined to an assembled opera performance. With four singers and two pianos we will discover (im)possibilities relationships in seven scenes in different combinations.

This is a co-production between Opera op Zak and Grachtenfestival.
